Interview Exclusive: With Woman Extraordinaire Carmen Amara

on

To describe Carmen Amara with one single word or phrase would be doing her a disservice. She is a mother, singer, songwriter, dancer, fitness trainer, actress, & entrepreneur.

I first caught wind of her in a YouTube video where she show her extra-ordinary skills in calisthenics.

She is the true definition of what I like to call, divergent movement which I wrote about in an earlier post. She incorporates a host of movements & physical exercises such as dance, yoga, gymnastics, ballet, calisthenics, and many more into her routines.

Carmen is breaking all bounds and is a fantastic representation of this renaissance “rebirth” movement in the health and fitness community that is both fun and great for the mind, body and spirit.

Her focus seems to be on just fully expressing the best version of herself that she can, all the while having fun in the process.

Watching Carmen, is like watching a rocket take off, she is going at full blast, enjoying each day to its maximum.

I was extremely honored to interview, Carmen,

Thank you Carmen for joining us. To begin,

Could you begin by sharing with us a little bit about how you got started in bodyweight training?

I started body weight training due to my ex husband who was a SWAT officer and was in rigorous training.  He asked me to train with him at the house and I found out that my strength was not too good.  I was not able to perform a pull up nor a push up at all.

In one sentence how would describe Carmen Amara?

Carmen Amara is an energetic fire driven Earth Goddess that is very unpredictable.

What advice, suggestions or pearls of wisdom would you want all women in general to know as it pertains to bodyweight training?

I’d actually like the general public to stop seeing bodyweight training divided by men and women.  It is important to unite and see that anything is possible no matter what sex we are.  We can achieve what we set our minds to.  It is important to find that time to focus on one’s  goals and ambitions in order to properly execute them.

What is your driving force, your inspiration?

The Creator and my spiritual guides.  I am an instrument of light to bring awareness and inspiration so others may find their path.  Also my family and my loved ones.

How do you integrate spiritual values into your life?

It was instilled in me from the moment I wake up until I fall asleep.  It is a matter of being aware of all you do at the present moment and to enjoy the time in order to see what is in front of you.  Most people are longing for the past, or worried of the future and are not living their purpose. I appreciate all I do and every moment I encounter as a blessing.

What’s the most important lesson you have learned?

To be a source of light and love.  Love is one of the most powerful feeling or emotion that can conquer even the most difficult situation.  I feel this has helped me to be very humble and just do what I love without expectations nor competitiveness. I started dance lessons when I was 2 years young and I would always be in competitions.  I was not happy having the pressure on me and always felt I needed to prove myself.  I learned to love myself unconditionally and just flow with all aspects of life.

What’s the most important habit that you think has been critical to your success in mind, body and spirit?

Meditation, fasting  and learning proper breathing techniques I learned while I studied Pranayama, which means extension of the life force.

How long would it take you today to mentor somebody to your same level of success?

That is something I can’t answer because we are all unique and have different journeys.  All I do is show the path and those that are akin with what I do will awaken to their own frequency.  I respect the laws of the Universe where one we need to respect our own free will.

In one sentence or phrase how would you define success?

Learning to be still under any circumstance knowing that faith will carry you through.

Who are your mentors and why?

Universe/Creator- I have remembered why I am here and that connection gives me so much happiness and understanding even in moments of hardship.

Bashar- His messages resonate with me.  I feel as if a part of me is alien.  LOL * Bashar is a multidimensional extraterrestrial being channeled by Darryl Anka from what we perceive as the future.

My spiritual brothers and sisters in my path so many to name but they know who they are.  They have been there for me to keep raising me up and loving me for who I am.

Bruce Lee- I can see him in me.  I trust what I do and I find that spiritual moment takes me beyond this dimension.  I use all my awareness and breath to apply it in my training.

What was the most difficult decision you had to make?

Having fear of speaking up which lead me to make decisions that really taught me lessons, but that I had to go through them in order to learn. and to be now where I am.

What was the best decision you made?

Start putting me first and loving me.

What question should I have asked you? Why is this question important? And what is the answer?

What makes you happy?  Because it is not only material things that make me happy.  Being with nature and educating others about how vital it is for our own physical and spiritual growth.  Being able to travel the world with what I love to do with my family as well.

Once again thank you for your time. I appreciate the opportunity.
I am very happy you have contacted me and I am humbled for the opportunity as well.
